FILMS' "THE BACK-UP PLAN" AND THE AMERICAN HUMANE ASSOCIATION
TEAM UP ON NATIONWIDE PET ADOPTIONS
In
celebration of the upcoming release "The Back-up Plan,"
CBS Films (NYSE: CBS.A and CBS) announced today that it is teaming
with the American Humane Association to host a nationwide pet adoption
event. "The Back-up Plan," a romantic comedy starring Jennifer
Lopez and Alex O'Loughlin, will debut in US theaters on April 23,
2010.
In
the film, Zoe (Lopez) owns Hudson Mutts, a hip Greenwich Village pet
boutique that caters to pet adoptions and environmentally friendly,
healthy pet care. Her decision to create a socially conscious pet
store was inspired by her dog Nuts - a featured character in the film.
CBS
Films and American Humane are working with a targeted American Humane
member shelter in each of the 12 selected markets to organize the
pet adoption events. Details specific to each market are listed below.
Promotional items tied to the film, including advance screening passes,
will be distributed to attendees.

The film is directed by Alan Poul ("Swingtown," "Six
Feet Under") from a screenplay written by Kate Angelo ("Will
& Grace," "What About Brian"). Todd Black, Jason
Blumenthal and Steve Tisch ("The Pursuit of Happyness,"
"The Taking of Pelham 123") are producing through their
Escape Artists banner. Rodney Liber and David Bloomfield are executive
producers.

CBS Films is currently in post-production on the edgy teen romance
Beastly which is set to debut in theaters on July 30, 2010. The film

by Daniel Barnz. Beastly is based on the Alex Flinn novel of the same
name. The studio is in production on the revenge thriller Faster,
a co-production with Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions Group, starring
Dwayne Johnson, Billy Bob Thornton and newcomer Oliver Jackson-Cohen.
The film, which started production in February 2010, is directed by
George Tillman, Jr. from a screenplay by Tony and Joe Gayton. The
company's development slate includes Consent To Kill, an action-thriller
based on the Mitch Rapp character from the best-selling Vince Flynn
novels; the romantic thriller The Eternals written by Chris Hauty
and directed by Jeff Wadlow; The Station, a thriller set against the
International Space Station and based on a popular Boom! Studios comic
book series; a remake of My Fair Lady, based on the classic musical
by Alan Jay Lerner and Frederick Loewe, which is being co-developed
with Columbia Pictures; and an action-adventure feature adaptation
